Julie Sadler has been writing and editing for nearly a decade, first for love and then for money. After three years in graduate school, she left to seek her fortune; her career has spanned everything from academic editing to editorial reading at a literary agency. Now she works as a freelance editor with a focus on YA, Fantasy/Science Fiction, Women’s Fiction, and Romance. Julie is attuned to the social contexts authors bring to their work and is particularly dedicated to helping marginalized authors bring their stories to the wider world.
Julie has a B.A(H) in Early Modern Studies and English from the University of King’s College, and a M.A. in Critical Disability Studies from York University. Her Master’s work focused on the relationship between storytelling and trauma in the context of medical intervention. She has presented her work at multiple conferences and hospitals and is a proud patient advocate for her community.
She lives in Toronto with her ridiculous dog (a whippet) and a hopelessly chaotic set of bookshelves (a disaster) .
